RED ROBIN FOSJ DINNER, Thursday, February 16, 2012, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Join our FOSJ families for dinner at Red Robin in the Hamilton Market Place between 5 PM - 8 PM. This is a great opportunity to meet new and returning jazz families as Red Robin donates 15% of all FOSJ proceeds back to Steinert's Jazz Band Program.

After placing your food order, present your Red Robin Flyer (see attachment) to your server. The company will donate 15% of FOSJ's total bill for the evening to us in March 2012. Click here for the Red Robin Flyer.

General Membership Meeting: FOSJ's General Membership Meeting will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 8:30 AM in the Choir Room. Please make every effort to attend as we finalize our plans for our Jazz Festival (March 10th).

The E-Board Meeting will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 7:30 AM in the Choir Room

JAZZ FESTIVAL AD BOOK

AD BOOK Sales Packets for our 2012 Jazz Festival were distributed to all Jazz Members on December 7th (Jazz Band) and December 13th (Spartan Jazz) during rehearsals.

The Jazz Festival is our largest fundraiser and this 1-day event allows us to earn almost 2/3's of of annual operating budget. By far, our ad book produces the highest revenue for that day - approximately $6,500. Each student is asked to sell $200 in ads to the local business community (local Hamilton Township merchants). The $200 in ads defrays the cost for each individual student throughout the jazz season; it includes, but is not limited to entrance fees to jazz festivals, transportation costs, music charts, classroom supplies, etc.

A generous student incentive is again offered by FOSJ to allow the students to SHARE in the success of their jazz festival. Students can easily earn a $100+ VISA Gift Card for a few hours work...and they can use that money for their DisneyWorld Trip.

Please support your child's music interests as they endeavor to solicit ads for our program book.

All ad sales (ad sample and payment) should be deposited in the JAZZ BOX in the band room. All ads are due by February 24, 2012.

WASHINGTON, DC TRIP: April 20 - 22, 2012

Both bands will be travelling to the Washington, D.C. area to perform at The Old Post Office on April 20-22, 2012 (Fri. to Sun.). This event is the Jazz Program's annual music trip and it promises to be an unforgetable experience complete with a series of clinics offered to the students by the 257th Army Band (a.k.a THE BAND OF THE NATION'S CAPITAL).

Family members are welcome to accompany the bands on the trip. A full agenda is planned for our weekend in the Nation's Capital including attending the musical "1776" at Ford's Theater.

Deposit #2 - The second $50 deposit (per traveler) is due no later than Wednesday, February 1, 2012 for our Washington, D.C. trip.
