Friends of Steinert High School Jazz, Inc. ("FOSJ") is the official support group of Steinert High School's ("SHS") Jazz Band Program. The organization was founded in 2007 by a group of dedicated band parents committed to supporting the education and advancement of American Jazz through classroom instruction, performances, and jazz festival competitions.

FOSJ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated within the laws of the State of New Jersey. Donations to our organization are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Members convene monthly to plan, develop, and implement strategies for the program's Annual Jazz Festival, special events, and fundraisers.

FOSJ is governed by its Executive Board Committee, which is comprised of elected Officers and Members-At-Large of the organization. The Executive Board Committee is elected to a 1-year term at the May General Meeting and begins its term July 1st. The Executive Board meets monthly, prior to the general membership meeting, to oversee matters relating to the composition, organization, and effectiveness of the organization's by-laws.
